Incubator
2022
Beit Berl College, School of Art
In this exhibition, I presented a series of paintings depicting red and pink incubators - fragile, glowing structures that seem to shimmer in the darkness, attempting to illuminate their surroundings. These artificial greenhouses, both seductive and unsettling, reflect humanity’s ongoing attempt to imitate and control natural processes.
The works explore the complex relationship between human, machine, and nature, examining how technology reshapes the living world and blurs the boundary between the organic and the synthetic. The incubator - a symbol of protection and artificial life - becomes in my paintings a metaphor for the Anthropocene, an era in which human intervention creates new ecosystems that depend on light, energy, and constant maintenance to survive.
