Paintings of War

The work War Paintings was exhibited in the group show “Sheva Sukkot” (Seven Sukkot), 2025, at The Gallery for Israeli Art, Tivon Memorial Center, curated by Michal Shachnai and Shirly Marom.
As part of the event, seven artists created site-specific installations beneath temporary sukkah structures in the courtyard, exploring new interpretations of community, impermanence, and home.

In Yakobi’s sukkah, the interior walls became vast coloring-book surfaces composed of black line drawings arranged in registers reminiscent of ancient Egyptian hieroglyphs.
If those registers once served to record the official history of Egypt, here they retell our story — a contemporary reality of war, fear, and hope.
